Author: |

Recently, 2015 annual selection results of “National March Eighth Red Banner Pacesetter” were announced, Professor FANG Wei from Space Optics Department I was awarded the honorary title of “National March Eighth Red Banner Pacesetter” which is the most influential title in our country and represents the advanced typical of hundreds of millions of women. This is the second time for the women staff to obtain this honorary title since 2007 when Researcher HE HuiYang won this title.

Over the years, prof. Fang has been engaged in space optical engineering research and was an academic leader in the field of absolute measurement of the spatial light radiation research for aerospace products. She has presided over "Storm III" satellite A, B and C Star Star solar radiation monitor research projects in which the equipment indicators have reached the advanced international level filling the gaps in the field of space solar radiation monitoring. Aiming at the international forefront of the development of science and technology and based on national demand, prof. FANG opened up our spaceborne optical remote sensor absolute radiometric calibration methods research to solve the defects such as poor stability, low accuracy of traditional in-orbit calibration reference, and provided a benchmark for our space ultra-high-precision absolute radiometric calibration of remote sensing instruments in the future.

In recent years, prof. FANG has outstanding performance and won several honorary titles such as Zhao Jiuzhang Outstanding Youth Science Award, Jilin Province Labor Medal, Jilin Province top-notch creative talents, Jilin senior experts and so on.
