Mr. Gerhard Bruder, who is also the chairman of the German ICA Association, was accompanied by Mr. YANG Ming, chairman of the German Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce, as well as officials from the Foreign Affairs Office of Jilin Province.

The visitors were shown the Key Laboratory of Optical System Advanced Manufacturing Technology, which played a vital role in the building of the world's largest 4-meter monolithic silicon carbide mirror.

Mr. ZHANG Tao, vice president of CIOMP and Ms. WANG Hui, deputy director of CIOMP’s International Cooperation Department accompanied the German guests on their tour.

In terms of postgraduate education, Zhang said CIOMP has set up a postgraduate joint training program with the University of Jena in Germany, and each year sends outstanding graduate students to study in Germany.

“I hope that the delegation's visit and exchange will further deepen bilateral cooperation and gradually promote substantive scientific cooperation between the two sides,” said Mr. Zhang

Mr. YANG Ming thanked CIOMP for its hospitality and wished it more remarkable achievements in the field of optics in the future. He said he looks forward to more close links between CIOMP and the German Chinese business community and German ICA Association.
