Changchun Laser Company Aids Covid19 Treatment Research

Author: |

As the Covid19 pandemic ravages through the world, China, the first country to be hit but currently recovering, is helping hard hit countries with sharing of outbreak containment and treatment experiences, shipments of badly needed medical supplies such as medical face masks and ventilators, as well as research data and information critical to the understanding and treatment of this virus.

In addition to all that, laser products from Chinas Changchun New Industries Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. (CNI Laser) are aiding German Researchers in their search for an effective treatment of the infection, which in some countries have caused death rate of around 10%.

The researchers are looking into treating the infection using photodynamic therapy (PDT), a form of phototherapy involving light and a photosensitizing chemical substance, used in conjunction with molecular oxygen to elicit cell death. PDT is used clinically to treat a wide range of medical conditions from skin conditions to cancer, for it has proven ability to kill microbial cells, including bacteria, fungi and viruses.

355nm, 360nm, 375nm, 405nm, and 450 nm lasers produced by CNI are used for this kind of treatment

CNI Laser, founded in 1996 under Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics (CIOMP) of China Academy of Sciences, is the leading manufacturer of lasers, spectrometers, power meters and optical systems in China. It now serves more than 8,000 customers, including many of the world’s leading research institutes, as well as industry.
