Engineers from GeOptics Sequencing Equipment (Changchun) Co., Ltd., a company affiliated with the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics (CIOMP), are helping the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in Jilin, a city in China’s Jilin Province which is suffering an outbreak.

Fast, accurate testing is essential to the control of the spreading of any infectious disease. GeOptics engineers have been working non-stop in Jilin, providing technical support at test facilities to screen local residents to identify victims of the virus.

A cluster of Covid-19 cases were reported in Jilin in early May. Total cases linked to that cluster have now reached nearly 50. The outbreak now appears to have been contained, thanks to timely actions taken by local authorities.
