Space Optics Department II

Introduction

The Space Optics Department II was established in March 2010. The main staff is composed of the scientific research personnel of original department of Space Optics who undertake the task of space missions, According to the strategic positioning of the institute, The Space Optics Department II is mainly dominated(guided)by space missions, and now mainly focuses on detailed reconnaissance imaging, Wide field imaging and stereo mapping.

 

The Space Optics Department II consists of department office and five laboratories. The five laboratories are: system technology laboratory, Wide field imaging technology laboratory, stereo mapping technology laboratory, detailed reconnaissance imaging laboratory I and detailed reconnaissance imaging laboratory II. At present, there are 127 staff including 25 research fellows, 63 associate researchers, 35 intermediate titles, and 4 others. Among these staff (employees), there are 56 doctorates, 43 masters, and 28 others.

 

The Space Optics Department II is mainly engaged in engineering technology research of space optical remote sensing imaging. It is a comprehensive research department including optics, machinery, electronics, computer and space environment science. This depart has established a complete research and production system for the system design, production, assembly, testing, environmental testing and ground equipment of space optical remote sensors, and established a space optical remote sensor test center integrating assembly and detection.

 

The key disciplines are system engineering of space optical remote sensor, space optical engineering, space precision mechanical engineering, Space Electronics Engineering and space environment engineering. The system development technology has reached the leading position in China and advanced in the world

He is one of the main academic leaders in the field of space remote sensing of Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
