Content introduction:
With the increasing demand for bandwidth growth and energy consumption reduction in supercomputers and data centers, optical interconnection technology has become an effective way to solve the problems of bandwidth and power consumption instead of electrical interconnection technology. Vertical cavity surface emitting laser is the ideal light source for short-range optical interconnection. It has become the mainstream academic research institutions and research hotspot in optical devices company. In recent years, the emergence of nano optical structures provides an opportunity to further improve the performance of vertical cavity surface emitting lasers. This presentation will introduce the research progress of high speed vertical cavity surface emitting lasers first, and then introduce the new optical characteristics of sub wavelength gratings, and their applications in high speed surface emitting lasers and integrated chips.
