Speakers' CV:

Daniel Orband earned a B.S. in Optics from the University of Rochester in 1993. After graduation, he joined a startup that developed commercial optical devices and in-line inspection systems. In 1999, Orband joined the optical engineering staff at Optikos. Starting within the Optikos optical design and engineering services business, Dan served as a project manager for several large OpTest? and I-SITE? test system projects. As Director of Engineering, he is responsible for many innovative optical systems, including a spectrally programmable visible light source and the development of several large-scale, I-SITE, VideoMTF?, Meridian? and scanning based infrared test systems. Dan has been awarded seven U.S. patents.

 

Robert (Bob) Ireland earned an A.B. in Physics from the College of the Holy Cross, an M.S. in Optics from the University of Rochester, and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He began his career as an optical design engineer at Eastman Kodak Company and subsequently held both technical and commercial management roles at Kodak and also at Corning Incorporated. Bob then successively led II-VI, CVI MellesGriot, and SCHOTT through periods of significant business and capabilities growth. He most recently held the position of Executive Vice President and General Manager of Syntec Optics and Wordingham Technologies. Bob is responsible for leading Optikos worldwide sales by expanding the growth of the Company’s optical and opto-mechanical engineering services and metrology product line for opto-mechanical engineering services and metrology product line for diverse client applications.
