My Story with CIOMP

Author: TANG Qi |

Even today, I can still clearly remember my first day at CIOMP, as if it were only yesterday. It was May 15th, 2013 when I became a proud member of CIOMP, a day I believe I will remember forever.

As time flies I have worked here for 9 years and 8 years as a business manager in the division of International Cooperation. It’s a wonderful work experience for me.

Foreign Affairs Management is one of my main jobs here. I have serviced more than 300 delegations and helped more than 1,000 persons to go abroad to attend international conferences or exchanges.

Through my work I have made many friends among the scientists working at CIOMP. Sometimes upon their return from journeys abroad they would tell me about their interesting experiences abroad and give thanks to me.

Nowadays my main job duties are about the management of projects of International Cooperation. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, offline international exchanges dwindled to almost next to nothing, which is rather challenging for us who work in International Cooperation.

All staff of the Division of International Cooperation have tried our best to solve the problems. Since 2020, we have organized many forums and international meetings online, a great alternative when face to face exchanges are made difficult by circumstances.

2022 will see in the 70th anniversary of CIOMP’s founding. The institute has had a glorious history, one not possible without the hard work of its faculty and staff. Under the leadership of Prof. WANG Daheng and all the leaders of CIOMP, CIOMP has achieved lots of great awards and honors. As an employee of CIOMP, I will try my best to do my own work and make my contribution to the rapid development of CIOMP in future.

Looking into the future, I sincerely wish CIOMP will stay vigorous and progress forward for ever.
