I am TAO Chen. As a native of Changchun, I deeply love my hometown and the land on which it is built. Since childhood, I have always heard that in Changchun we have the cradle of China’s optical manufacturing, which carries the optical dreams of generations of Chinese people. I never dreamt that I would have the honor to join that esteemed institute one day.
As a poem goes, one should always try to strive to get to the top, as that is where real masters can be found. I officially joined CIOMP and our research group after graduating Jilin University in 2019. Here I met many excellent young scientists from all corners of the motherland, and also received guidance and help from many teachers and leaders. They only gave me guidance in work on science and technology, but also gave me a lot of help in life.
In my work, I have the honor to participate in the development of China's Chang'e and Fengyun series space missions and witnessed first-hand the tenacity and efforts of Chinese aerospace personnel. The rapid and good development of China's aerospace industry is largely due to the silent efforts and dedication of these people. In life, I also made many friends. After work, we can play ball games, play music and chat about our plans for the future.
Changchun may not be a busy metropolis, but there is a well respected research institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences here called CIOMP, and there are people proud to be called CIOMPers. They have always been the backbone of China's optical technology and the hope of China's future optical development. At this special moment of the 70th anniversary of the founding of CIOMP. I sincerely hope and wish all of you ever more successes. Many talents have been trained here and now they are giving full play to their abilities in China and around the world. May we all stay young at heart, stay true to our ideals. I hope that on CIOMP's birthday, all CIOMPers can come back and see the changes in Changchun and reminisce about the past, and together we can look forward to a bright future.
