The second session of Changguang Forum, 2022 was successfully held on January 12. The guest speakers were Prof. Juan Campus from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain, and Prof. MU Quanquan from the State Key Laboratory of Applied Optics.
Working in cooperation with Prof. Mu, Prof. Campus is a visiting scientist sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) President‘s International Fellowship Initiative (PIFI). He made two academic reports at this forum.
The first was titled "Applications of polarized light to the study of biological tissues", in which he introduced his progress in studying biological tissues and plant samples through polarization information and his work in the design of structured polarization analyzers.
The second report is entitled "Collaboration between CIOMP and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona", which summarized the results of the cooperation between the two parties in simulation optimization, fabrication and testing of micro-polarization devices in 2021.
Prof. Mu and other CIOMP participants then had a lively discussion and exchange with Professor Campus on the cooperative idea of making a full Stokes polarization imaging camera. Professor Campus expressed the hope that the two sides can find areas and directions for cooperation again in the future. He hoped that CIOMP will send students to Spain for on-the-spot exchanges and practice after the epidemic is over.
Through this forum, the mutual understanding between CIOMP and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona has been deepened, and in-depth communication has been conducted at the technical level, said Ms. Wang Hui, Deputy Director of CIOMP‘s International Cooperation Office and chair of the forum. The two sides expect to continue to strengthen cooperation in high-level talent exchange visits and substantive scientific research cooperation in the future, she revealed.
