On June 28, 2022, Clarivate Analytics released the 2021 Journal Citation Report. The latest impact factor of Light: Science & Applications (LSA) reached its new record of 20.257, ranking Top 3 among all optical journals for eight consecutive years (see Fig. 1). It’s also worth mentioning that, LSA has the largest amount of citable items among the Top 5 optics journals indexed by JCR (as shown in Fig.2).

Compared with last year (JCR 2020), the two years’ publishing volume of LSA rises from 278 to 325, with an increasing ratio of 17%, and the annual total citations of LSA increase by 30%, from 11,273 in 2020 to 14,650 in 2021. The above data is a reflection of LSA’s growing impact.
Light: Science & Applications - sponsored by CIOMP, Chinese Academy of Sciences - is a Nature Academic journal, which publishes breakthrough researches from all aspects of optics and photonics, including basic, applied and engineering research and applications.
Launched in 2012, 2022 is the 10-Year anniversary of LSA. We’re pleased to see the flourishing of LSA, with its total citations increased from 24 in 2012 to 14,650 in 2021, and the annual publishing volume increased from 22 papers to 234 papers (as shown in Fig.3)
