The " 2025 CAS-MHESI Symposium on Astronomy, Space Science, and Advanced Instrumentation" hosted by Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI), Thailand and undertaken by Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics, and Physics (CIOMP) and National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT) has successfully held from January 13–15, 2025 in Changchun, China.

This Symposium is the first event in the field of pragmatism held in China in 2025 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand and served as one of the key activities to honor the long-standing relationship between the two nations.

More than 80 experts and scholars from over 20 Chinese and Thai organizations attended the symposium. The symposium consisted of 4 plenary speeches and 32 thematic presentations, focused on three themes: astronomy, space science, and advanced instrumentation. Specifically, we have in-depth discussions on deep space exploration, Earth observation, space particle detection, advanced optical manufacturing, astronomical science and advanced instrumentation etc.
We explored the current status and prospects of bilateral cooperation in these fields, which furthered strengthen the exchange and cooperation between our countries in the astronomy and space science, jointly promote scientific research and innovative development, and deepened the level of cooperation. Lay a solid foundation for the long-term development of Sino-Thai scientific and technological cooperation.
