Changchun UP Optotech Co., Ltd, a company affiliated with the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics (CIOMP), is now a supplier of the SCHOTT Group of Germany, one of the most respected optical glass manufacturers in the world.

Changchun UP sent the first batch of optical glass to the SCHOTT Group factory in Malaysia on April 30th, 2019，opening the door for more international deals in the future.

With 130 years of experience in special glass and materials, SCHOTT Group is a multinational high-tech corporation specializing in the production of glass and glass ceramics. With a reputation to protect, it has one of the world’s most rigorous audit process when it comes to approve a new supplier.

Changchun UP received its supply request document from SCHOTT Group in late April, a clear sign of SCHOTT’s confidence in Changchun UP. As a matter of fact, Changchun UP’s products not only met but far exceeded all the physical and chemical property test values required by SCHOTT Group.

The auditing of Changchun Up started a year ago. From June 12th to 13th, 2018, experts from SCHOTT conducted than 100 audits on Changchun Up, which sailed through this preliminary review phase.

One month later, Changchun Up received a list from SCHOTT of 39 items where further improvements are needed. By April 30, 2019, Changchun Up was able to report to SCHOTT that 36 items on the list had been rectified as to SCHOTT’s requirements, with the remaining three to be completed before October 1.
