Impact factor of LSA ranks No.2 among all optical journals for two consecutive years

Author: |

According to the 2016 Journal Citation Report (JCR 2015) released on 13th June, Light: Science & Applications (hereinafter referred to as LSA) has received its 3rd impact factor of 13.6, consecutively ranking No.2 among all SCI-indexed optical journals of 90 kinds. On year-on-year basis, LSA’s annual volume has rised by 30 percent high while the total citations have managed a stunning 65% growth. While maintaining its high-profile brand, LSA is rapidly expanding its impact.

LSA, copyright to Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics (CIOMP), is the first open access optical journal in collaboration with Nature Publishing Group (NPG, now known as Springer Nature). Launched on 29th March 2012, the journal has been successively included by renowned databases, SCI, Scopus, DOAJ and EI. LSA was also selected as one of the golden partners of International Year of Light 2015 by United Nations.

Light: Science & Applications has been aiming at ‘a high-profile international optical journal‘ since its very first beginning. An Editorial Board was built up with dozens of world-class experts in optics, and its reputation has been further enhanced with NPG‘s international network. By far, LSA has published influential researches, including which from the Nobel laureate Shuji Nakamura (High-brightness polarized light-emitting diodes, http://www.nature.com/lsa/journal/v1/n8/full/lsa201222a.html), Top 30 breakthroughes in 2013 selected by OSA (Cavity optomechanics on a microfluidic resonator with water and viscous liquids, http://www.nature.com/lsa/journal/v2/n11/full/lsa201366a.html), ANSF-highlighted paper (New yellow Ba0.93Eu0.07Al2O4 phosphor for warm-white light-emitting diodes through single-emitting-center conversion, http://www.nature.com/lsa/journal/v2/n1/full/lsa20136a.html) and other 17 ESI high-citation papers. LSA has been further acclaimed with its papers frequently cited by the World’s best journals such as Science and Nature journals.

To better benefit the optics society, LSA has been hosting an annual academic conference ‘Light Conference‘ series ever since 2011, hopefully on its way to a global optical tradition and facilitating the collaboration all around the world.

In 2016, LSA established its oversea branch (located in University of Rochester, USA), and jointly with Rochester, CIOMP and LSA wish to bring the Light Conference 2016 to a history-high impact.
