CIOMP's Professor Amer Shaaban Mohamed Kotb Named Talented Young Scientist, Again

Associate Professor Amer Shaaban Mohamed Kotb from the GPL Photonics Laboratory, CIOMP was successfully selected into Talented Young Scientist Program supported by China Science and Technology Exchange Center. It is the second time the professor won this influential talent program, the first time in 2018.

Talented Young Scientist Program (TYSP) is an international mobility scheme funded by the Chinese government aimed at cultivating future leading scientists together with other countries. TYSP promotes cross-border exchanges of excellent young scientists, scholars and researchers. It also enhances cooperation among research institutes, universities and enterprises.

Dr. Amer Shaaban Mohamed Kotb has been an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, Fayoum University, Egypt and now is the Associate Professor of the GPL Photonics Laboratory, CIOMP.

He is the first and corresponding author of two books and more than 48 international journal papers in all-optical Boolean gates using semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs). These publications have 530+ citation, 15+ h-index, and 21+ i10-index.

He serves as a reviewer and on editorial boards for many scientific journals. He also examines many Ph.D. and master theses in many countries, such as India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. His current research activities include optical logic gates, SOAs, Metasurface, and computational Photonics.
