With the 2020 Chinese New Year looming, the International Cooperation Division (ICD) of the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics (CIOMP), Chinese Academy of Sciences organized a Lunar New Year Preparation themed activity for CIOMP’s foreign employees and students.
Here is the list of the 10 biggest events in China’s optics research circle, compiled by Light: Science & Applications. These events were selected by a popular vote from a candidate pool of 20, which was compiled with the help of AMiner from Tsinghua University, which helped select the 20 events from more than 100,000 optics events happened in 2019.
The competition was organized jointly by the student branches of the Optical Society (OSA) & the Society of Photographic Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE), and CIOMP’s Department of International Cooperation, which also took the opportunity to hand out its International Communication Award.
Light: Science & Applications (LSA), a journal jointly published by Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics (CIOMP) and Nature Publishing Group, was selected by Chinese authorities as a “Leading STM Journal.
Professor Dieter Bimberg, director of Bimberg Chinese-German Center for Green Photonics at Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics (CIOMP), was awarded the 2020 Stern-Gracher Medal, the highest award for experimental physics by the German Physical Society.
ZHANG Tingting, an employee of Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics (CIOMP), Chinese Academy of Sciences, won Third Place at the Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies Competition held in Shenzhen by the Institute of Printed Circuits (IPC) from October 9 to 11, 2019.
