The third CIOMP-DOC Optics and Optical Engineering International Conference, jointly organized by the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics (CIOMP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands was successfully held on December 14, 2023.
Dr. ZHANG Xuejun, a researcher of Changchun Institute of Optics, Fin Mechanics and Physics (CIOMP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) Member (Information and Electronic Engineering Department), announced on the website of the CAE on November 22, 2023.
From September 10 to 12, 2023, “Ultra Precision Manufacturing of Aspheres and Freeforms-Imaging and Non-imaging Applications (UPM) Workshop 2023” was held at the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics (CIOMP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
Light Conference Week 2023 came to a successful conclusion on the afternoon of August 16th. The event was jointly organized by the International Day of Light Organizing Committee of UNESCO, Jilin Provincial People's Government, Changchun Municipal People's Government, Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CIOMP,CAS), Chinese Optical Society (COS), IEEE Photonics Society, and China Science Daily, and co-hosted by Jilin Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, Changchun Science and Technology Bureau, Light Publishing Group, ScienceNet.cn, iCANX, and the Youth Innovation Promotion Association of CIOMP.
Dr. Peerapong Torteeka, President’s International Fellowship Initiative (PIFI) visiting scientist, conducted an online academic exchange with researchers of the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics (CIOMP) on July 14. Dr. Torteeka, engineer of the National Astronomical Observatories of Thailand, leads a team of Thai researchers working on the TSC-Pathfinder, a high-precision optical satellite jointly developed by CIOMP and the National Astronomical Observatories of Thailand.
Prof. Leonid Karachinsky, PIFI visiting scholar, visited Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics (CIOMP) on July 10 for academic exchange. Prof. Leonid Karachinsky, Deputy Director of the Institute of Advanced Data Transfer Systems, ITMO University, is a winner of the Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship, Germany’s most prestigious prize for international researchers. His research direction is high-speed long-wavelength VCSELs fabricated by MBE and wafer fusion.
