Representatives from the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics (CIOMP),CAS, and the Light Publishing Group visited top European optical researchers and research institutes in a bid to strengthen institutional ties and accelerate academic cooperation and exchange.
The researchers from Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Peking University developed a new technique for upgrading the quality of topological insulator bismuth films for use in ultra-broadband photodetectors.
On April 25th, at the invitation of the International Cooperation Office and the Third Department of Aerospace Imaging and Measurement Technology Research, Dr. Chen Yuwei, the Chief Scientist of Remote Sensing Electronics at the Finnish Earth Space Research Institute, visited the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics(CIOMP), and gave an academic report entitled "Ubiquitous LiDAR Technology".
From March 31 to April 8, 2023, a delegation from the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics (CIOMP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), visited the Belarusian National Academy of Sciences to explore scientific cooperation, student exchange programs and the establishment of an overseas R&D center.
From April 4 to 6, 2023, Wiphu Rujopakarn, Deputy Director of the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT) led a delegation of 12 on a visit to CIOMP. The two sides exchanged ideas and discussed future in-depth cooperation in aerospace remote sensing and other fields. Professor ZHANG Xuejun, Vice President of Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics(CIOMP), welcomed the visiting delegation, accompanied by Professor XU Wei, Director of the Space New Technology Department, and Ms. WANG Hui, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Department.
Recently, Prof. Minghui Hong, the previous head of Light Singapore Office, has left National University of Singapore (NUS) and joined Xiamen University, hence the head of Light Singapore Office has changed to Prof. Cheng-Wei Qiu from NUS, who is also Co-Editor-in-Chief of eLight, effective in January 2023.
