Foreign students and employees of Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics (CIOMP) were invited to take part in a Chinese calligraphy writing activity to create their own decorations for the coming Spring Festival on Jan. 25, which is the Minor Spring Festival on Chinese lunar calendar.
Major developments were made recently in both VR (virtual reality) and AR (augmented reality) technologies, which became the focus of attention. In recent years, MR (mixed reality) technology has also emerged, and optical components play an irreplaceable role in these technologies.
The second session of Changguang Forum, 2022 was successfully held on January 12. The guest speakers were Prof. Juan Campus from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain, and Prof. MU Quanquan from the State Key Laboratory of Applied Optics.
CIOMP successfully held a CHANGGUANG Forum on January 5, 2022, the first such event in 2022. Professor Chester Shu, Chairman of the Department of Electronic Engineering at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, attended the forum and made a presentation titled Programmable Optical Frequency Comb Sources for Wideband Communications.
On December 7, foreign expert Srinivasa Rao Konda from the GPL Photonics Laboratory of CIOMP gave a talk entitled "High order harmonic generation from plasma plumes of silver and Ni CsPbBr3 2D nanocrystals and Terahertz time domain spectroscopy of MAPbBr3 and MAPbI3 single crystals". The International Cooperation Office of CIOMP and the GPL Photonics Laboratory sent invitations to all employees and students of the institute to attend Konda’s talk.
On December 2, foreign expert Amer Kotb from the GPL Photonics Laboratory of CIOMP gave a talk entitled "Carrier reservoir semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs)-based logic gates". The International Cooperation Office of CIOMP and the GPL Photonics Laboratory sent invitations to all employees and students of the institute to attend Amer’s talk.
